Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing Little Olive’s Bakehouse for your special celebration.
Before confirming your order, please read through these Terms and Conditions.
Once you have paid your booking deposit this confirms your agreement with our Terms and Conditions.
ORDER PROCESS & PAYMENT

Once you are happy with the discussed design, I require either payment in full, or a non-refundable deposit in order to secure your booking and date. If paying a deposit for a celebration cake the remaining balance of your payment is due 2 weeks prior to your booked date. Wedding cakes require a non-refundable £100 deposit to secure your date and final payment must be made 4 weeks before your wedding date.
If your order is under £60, or required within 2 weeks, then the full balance is payable at the time of ordering.
If you have requested a delivery service, the cost of this will be included in the final, agreed price.
I will do my best to accommodate short notice orders, however this can't be guaranteed, so please place your order as early as possible for best availability.

PERSONALISED ITEMS

I offer the option of adding personalised acrylic/wood cake toppers and charms which I order from a third party. If your order is placed with less than two weeks notice and I need to order any personalised items, should the item not arrive in time or get lost in the post a refund for the item is not available. Please contact me about your cake in advance so I can order the personalised elements in time.
Celebration cake bookings can be taken 3 months in advance.
DELIVERY/COLLECTION

Celebration cakes: Delivery is available for a minimum of £5 locally, further distances will be charged at 50p per mile for the round trip. You are welcome to collect from SO22 (Winchester). Collections will be an agreed 2 hour time slot.
If you request us to leave your cake with someone, this is your responsibility. We will not be liable if it does not arrive with you safely after we have handed it over.

Wedding Cakes: These cannot be collected and will only be delivered to your specified venue. Delivery is charged at .50p per mile round trip plus time and will be included in your final quote.

TRANSPORT
Cakes are very fragile and need to be transported with care.
Cakes must be kept on a flat surface, either in your passenger footwell or the boot. I do not recommend holding the cake or placing it on a seat. Please ensure the heating in the car is off and if it is a warm day, make sure the air conditioning has been running for some time before the cake goes in the car.
Make sure to pick the cake up from the bottom of the box, not the sides, and do not tilt the cake. Once the cake has left my premises I am not responsible for any damage caused.

ALLERGIES & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
We cannot guarantee that any of our cakes/bakes do not contain any ingredient that may cause some form of allergic reaction. You are responsible for advising your guests of this and we will not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury from exposure to anything which might cause an allergic reaction. This may include, but without limitation, nuts, nut products, alcohol, dairy, wheat, sulphates or colouring.
A dietary list of ingredients can be provided to you if required. This must be requested a minimum of 4 weeks before your event. If a venue require a list of ingredients this is to be requested via you and not the venue
All products contain gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs and may contain traces of nuts unless otherwise stated.
We are willing to accommodate for certain allergies however, please consider this is a working kitchen full of a wide range of ingredients. For example - If you order a gluten free cake we will only use gluten free ingredients but we cannot guarantee no traces of gluten will be present. We accept no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes.
The following ingredients are used in my standard cakes and cupcakes:
Self Raising Flour, Caster Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Milk, Flavourings, Icing Sugar, Cream, Whitening powder (titanium dioxide), White Chocolate, may contain traces of nuts.
STORAGE
In order to keep your cake in a perfect condition it must be stored, boxed, in the fridge or somewhere cool & dark on a sturdy supportive surface and kept out of reach of children and pets. I advise bringing it up to room temperature an hour or so before cutting and serving.
Some elements of your cake (charms, toppers, floristry tape, florals etc) will need to be removed before serving.
Tiered cakes will be supported with dowels, make sure to remove these before serving.
Once cut, store in an airtight container at room temperature or wrap it in cling film.

I cannot be held accountable for any damages which may occur once a cake has left my possession. Please follow my advice to ensure the safety of your cake.
WEDDING CAKES
All wedding cake prices are individual to your specific design requirements.
Once a quotation has been sent, your date will be held for 3 weeks.
To secure your date a £100 non refundable deposit must be made and the outstanding balance must be made 4 weeks before the date.
Dates are not secured unless the deposit has been paid.
Wedding cakes with less than 4 weeks notice must be paid in full.
Any changes made to wedding cakes must be made at least 6 weeks prior and are subject to additional costs.
Once a cake has been delivered and set up, I cannot be held liable for any damages. If the cake is moved after set-up we will not take any responsibility for any loss or damage arising.
Cake stands hired by the client must be returned within 2 days of the event (unless previously arranged.) I can collect the cake stand after the event, however this is subject to a pre-arranged venue pick up fee of £20 + 50p/mile return journey from SO22.
FRESH FLOWERS ON WEDDING CAKES
Fresh flowers for your cake will usually be supplied by your wedding florist, this way your cake will blend perfectly with the rest of your colour scheme and flower choices. I request that you talk to your florist beforehand to ask them if they can set aside enough flowers for the size and design of your cake. I will then be in touch personally with your florist closer to your wedding date in order to discuss logistics for the day and to make sure that they are providing non-toxic food safe flowers. If your florist is supplying the cake flowers I do not include the cost of these in my quote but my time to safely prepare and arrange them on the cake is included in the quote.
CANCELLATIONS/COVID
I understand that life can sometimes throw you a curveball, COVID showed us that. Unfortunately due to the fact that this is my business and livelihood I cannot accept full cancellations. I do however offer postponements in certain circumstances.
Celebration Cakes - In the event of a lockdown, or personal illness, the cake may be moved to another date providing I have availability. If this does not work out, the balance may be put towards a future order.
Weddings - In the event of a lockdown or wedding postponement due to Government advice changes, you are entitled to amend your date providing I have availability. In the event of a cancellation, you are entitled to a full refund minus any pre-purchased items for the cake and the deposit amount, up to 14 days beforehand. Each booking will be individually dealt with in the case of such an unfortunate event.
